These simple mitts are crocheted flat in a 2 row pattern that creates a lacy cuff. The foundation row and last forward pass row are joined with a slip stitch seam. Cuffs and thumb openings are then stitched in single crochet and slip stitch for a firm, finished edge. The cuffs can be easily lengthened by adding a multiple of 2 stitches to the lace pattern. The lace pattern can be replaced by Tunisian simple stitch for a solid, woven-look fabric that brings out the best qualities of variegated yarns.
