This illusion knit is based on the ghosts seen by Tam o’ Shanter at Kirk Alloway. In the poem by Robert Burns, Tam sees the ghosts dancing: “They reel’d, they set, they crossed, they cleekit”. The ghosts in the pattern are Cutty Sark, wearing her short skirt, and her dance partner.
