Simple quick to make gift card holder.

Leaving a long tail to sew up the bottom, CH 31, join to work in the round.

sc in each stitch around, do not slip stitch to first stitch, instead work in continuos rounds.

Next round, sc in first stitch, ch 1, skip 1 stitch, sc in next stitch around.

Next round sc in the ch1 space, ch1 around. Continue in this manner for 9 rounds or until the pouch is tall enough for gift card to fit into, about 2.75 inches.

I’m lazy, so on the last round at about the middle point I made the loop to go over the button by chaining 8, then slip stitching back to form the loop. I then continued on in stitch pattern to the same spot on the other side of the pouch and cut the yarn leaving a long tail , sewed the button on, then finished up in pattern to get back to the loop on the other side and finished up with a slip stitch into the space the loop comes from. Alternately, you could just make the pouch the right height, cut your yarn and tie on new yarn to make the loop and sew on the button. I HATE sewing in ends… =)

Lastly, use the beginning yarn tail to sew up the bottom in whatever method you like…
