The Gilmet (gill-may) is all about thwarting tradition. At a quick glance, it is a simple tam. Upon closer inspection, the Gilmet reveals itself to have a chic deconstructed abstract lace pattern. There are no flowers here, but instead a wandering road of purls, ringing a burst of laddering eyelets that could easily be the snowflakes of a Maine winter or the sunflowers of a Minnesota summer. Whereever your journey takes you, Gilmet is an elegant complement to any style.

ETA Errata!

The written directions for Line 8 are incorrect. A sneaky extra YO found its way in.

It should read: K7, YO, K, K2tog, K, YO, K, SSK, K3, P2, K

The chart is correct.

The pattern has been corrected and updated on 1/25/10 both on Ravelry and on Knitpicks.
