This pattern teaches you how to make Ginger the Gingerbread Man.

This pattern is very straightforward and is suitable for beginners with basic crochet knowledge. For the experienced amigurumists, do note that some parts of the pattern requires crocheting in oval instead of the usual circular style.It comes with 10 pages of detailed instructions and 19 photos to help you follow along. The stitches and techniques that you will need to know for this pattern are:

  • crocheting an oval
  • Crocheting in continuous round,
  • forming a magic ring,
  • sc - single crochet
  • sc inc - single crochet increase
  • sc dec - single crochet decrease
  • dc - double crochet
  • tc - triple crochet
  • ch - chain stitch
  • ss - slip stitch
  • surface crochet (brief instructions given in pdf)

Using fingering yarn with 2.5mm hook will produce a gingerbread man of about 9.7cm/3.8in tall. It will be bigger if you use a thicker yarn and smaller if you use a thinner yarn.

Tan yarn
White yarn
Green yarn
Red yarn
Black embroidery thread
Stuffing
Crochet Hook 2.5mm
Felting needle + pink felting wool OR pink felt and glue
Yarn needle
