The stitch patterns used here create a lacy look that reminds me of gingerbread trim on old Victorian homes. This sock features:

-- Both toe-up and top-down construction, giving you the option to choose your preferred method.
-- A hybrid heel is created with a mini-gusset on either side of a short row heel.
-- Lacy center motif graces the toe Folded picot hem.
-- Alternative ribbed cuff is provided as well.
-- Full color photos
-- Clearly charted as well as easy to read written instructions
-- Explanations, with online references for techniques
-- Tips for how to know when to start a heel or toe

The cream colored socks are knit from the toe up. The blue socks were knit from the top down. Whichever construction method you choose, the lace shows itself beautifully.
