Gingerbread Castle

A Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns
Knitting

From the Stitch Description: To delight a child, work this bit of fairy-tale architecture on the front of his or her sweater! The Castle is made of a combination of easy knitting techniques. There is a lace door, there are windows of faggoting and picot eyelets, ribbed battlements with an openwork banner floating above them, and a twist-stitch tower topped with a bobble. The entire pattern is a good example of “picture knitting”: much less complicated than its lengthy directions seem to indicate, and great fun to work.*
