These socks are my basic toe-up magic loop sock recipe with a tiny twist. The toes are worked in reverse stockinette (purling every round) to give them a little accent.

Working socks from the toe-up means that you can customize the size as you go. The pattern instructs you to knit the toe until it barely touches the tip of your pinkie toe, but if you have a needle size and stitch count that works for you in most sock patterns, feel free to use that method. For my own women’s size 9 feet, I typically use 64 stitches. For my husband’s feet, I usually increase to 72 stitches.

The sample was knit on size 2.25mm needles (Addi Sock Rockets between US 0 and US 1 sizes) but any size between US 0-3 (2mm-3mm) would work. Working both socks at the same time from the toe up also allows you to use all of your yarn within a few yards if you would like.

If you are making these for another person, measure the foot circumference, length from toe to ankle, length from toe to end of heel, and circumference of the leg at the height you intend to make the socks.
