Giverny Beret

Knitting
June 2014
Fingering (14 wpi) ?
12 stitches and 20 rows = 2 inches
US 2 - 2.75 mm
US 4 - 3.5 mm
440 yards (402 m)
About 16" (40.5 cm) in circumference; will stretch comfortably to 19" (48.5 cm).

Featuring a relatively ornate center and a hex-mesh fill, this beret is a great introduction to working lace in rounds. Once you understand how a beret is constructed, you can follow the general instructions to use fingering- or sockweight yarn to turn any other eight-wedge doily into a similar beret.
