This is a simple rectangular scarf or stole, light and airy and easy to wear, knitted from end to end with a repeating lace lattice pattern bordered by straight garter stitch.

The lace pattern is a variation upon Diamond Dot, from ‘Knitting Lace’ by Barbara Abbey. It is a 12-row repeat, with wrong side rows being purled. The last 3 patterning rows of each repeat are merely a 5-stitch displacement of the first 3, and so the pattern is easy to memorise.

Instructions are given for size 16” x 64”, which uses approximately 480m of fivemoons Mahina 2ply, but guidance is given on altering the dimensions and estimating yarn requirements.
