A shawl vest with a loop stitch on the shoulders, meant to mimic the epaulets on a gladiator’s armor, knit in Twinkle Soft Chunky

MATERIALS:
Twinkle Soft Chunky distributed by Classic Elite (100% wool; 200 gram hank = approx 83 yards)
• 4 (4, 4, 5) hanks TS34 Fig
Needles:
• One 29” circular each size US 15, 17 and 19 (10, 12.75 and 15 mm)
Or size to obtain gauge
• One crochet hook size US K/101/2 (6.5 mm)
• Stitch markers
• Stitch holders or waste yarn
• Removable stitch markers
• Two large hook and eye closures

GAUGE: 11 sts and 15 rows = 6” in 2 x 2 Rib with medium needle; 9 sts and 121/2 rows = 5” in Seed Stitch with medium needle; 91/2 sts and 15 rows in Loop Stitch = 6” with smallest needle; 9 sts and 121/2 rows = 5” in Stockinette Stitch with medium needle; 8 sts and 12 rows = 5” in Stockinette Stitch with largest needles
