The Gleipnir shawl is part of the beautiful and unique Danish knitting book named Sjaler Nordfra (litteral translation: Shawls from the North) inspired by the wild Nordic nature and the stories of the creatures that live there.

Hopefully it will also soon be part of the English version, which will be named Nordic Shawls – please feel free to spread the word about this Kickstarter :)

Gleipnir is the chain binding Fenris until Ragnarok. The chain is thin and soft as a silken rope, yet stronger than any iron chain.
The dwarves forged Gleipnir from the sound of a cat’s footfall, the beard of a woman, the roots of a mountain, the tendrons of a bear, the breath of a fish, and the spittle of a bird.
