♫ The Music ♫
The Hills of Glenshee (the Maid of Glenshee) is a traditional ballad composed in the early 1800s and attributed to Andrew Sharpe. It tells the love story between a nobleman and a shepherdess who cares for her flock in the hills of Glenshee. Cables are such a perfect representation of the intertwining relationships in our lives.

Cable designs are charted only.

This generously-sized, lusciously cabled crescent shawl is knit side-to-side beginning and ending with a Garter stitch edge. The left-hand edge (as worked) is a faux I-Cord edge that will form a lovely rounded finish for the top of the shawl – be sure not to pull the yarn too tightly when working these stitches. All of the increases and decreases are worked in the upper textured portion of the shawl.

The star ⭐ of this design is the mirrored cable which is flanked by a knotted cable rope on each side; the lower edge has an additional cable added. Twisted stitch and garter stitch elements within the cable panel add to the beautiful harmony of this design.

Cable designs are charted only.
