Inspired by the traditional designs of Shetland, this shawl takes a modern turn.
It’s pattern, but also a recipe - you can customize this design easily and make it completely unique and yours.

The first part of the shawl is knit using an almost traditional Shetland style center triangle - ommitting the yarn overs at the beginning of the row and replacing them with a simple increase.

The border is worked up picking up stitches on the two sides of the center triangle with a simple striped design and the shawl finished off with a few rows of garter stitch across the top.

Skills needed:

  • garter stitch
  • kfb (knit into front and back)

Notions:
Scrap yarn
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Stitch marker
