Meaning ‘to glitter’ or ‘shine’ in Icelandic, Glitra lives up to its name with sparkling seed beads and the radiant glow of silk.

Shibui Knits ‘Silk Cloud’ and ‘Cima’ are combined to form a textural mix akin to the atmospheric Icelandic landscape.

After knitting a single rib brim, the main body pattern is created with two-color knit and purl stripes highlighted by slipped seed beads. Stockinette stitch forms the remainder of the body and crown shaping.

I was inspired to create this simple and chic hat after designing the Glitra Scarf.
