Glitz at the Ritz is the grown up big sister of the Afternoon Tea Shawlette from Knitty SS 2012. With beautiful lace and sparkly beads you’ll be the best accessorized at that summer wedding or keeping the late evening chill off your shoulders with a strapless evening dress.

This shawlette is designed to be knitted from just one skein of sock weight yarn. It’s positively calling out to that special single skein you couldn’t resist stashing away, especially those with slightly drapier blends such as alpaca, silk and perhaps a touch of cashmere.

Glitz’s elongated triangular shape drapes beautifully around the shoulders while the beads add gorgeous glamour.

This could make an ideal first time project for lace and bead knitting as the lace patterns in the shawl are quite straightforward.
