This pattern is available for free.

The original of this jacket was in very thick wool in one of the new tones of beige, with dark brown buttons.

MATERIALS: 20 ozs. of Paton and Baldwin’s White Heather Zephyr wool, 8-ply, or 14 ozs. of double knitting wool. Both of these wools are very thick and very soft. Two No. 6 needles.

MEASUREMENTS: for 36-inch. bust. Each 2 in. difference requires 10 stitches more or less (3 at each front, 4 at back).

Editor note: by definition zephyr is any of various things of fine, light quality, as fabric, yarn, etc., it is likely zephyr yarn would be a fluffy soft yarn.

Please note : pattern instructions for larger bust sizes : “Each 2 in. difference requires 10 stitches more or less (3 at each front, 4 at back)” will give you for 4 extra sts at back and 6 sts extra at front (3 sts for each of the 2 fronts), therefore a count of 10 sts.
