This wrap was inspired by coastal New England. It is named for the fishing town, Gloucester MA. The Gloucester Wrap is the perfect garment for throwing over your jeans and a t shirt for an evening clam bake at the beach. The chunky cables evoke heavy fisherman’s sweaters but the construction is very modern. It may be worn with one end wrapped around the neck, open with both sides hanging down like a cardigan or with a shawl pin fastening the front edges.

The body of this cardigan is worked in one piece, like a long rectangular shawl, with set in sleeves. The two most important measurements for fitting this sweater are the upper back (width between the armholes) and upper arm measurements. It is recommended that you choose your size based on these two measurements.
