Gnarled is a matching set of collar and cuffs designed in a super-bulky yarn to keep out the chill. Wear them to warm up a dressy outfit or dress up a warm outfit- either way they add a touch of Victorian style to your day. The slightly felted yarn keeps warm air trapped next to your skin where it belongs in cold weather, while the merino is soft enough to nestle next to your skin.

Size notes
While there are only 2 sizes, the bulky lace is very stretchy. The pattern can easily be worn with anywhere between 1 inch of negative ease up to 4 inches of positive ease in the neckband and 1 inch of negative ease to 2 inches of positive ease in the cuffs.
Collar:
Neck circumference: 16 (20)“
Yoke depth: 5.5 (5.5)”

DPNs(or magic loop) and 32” circular needle for collar
DPNs for cuffs
1 stitch marker

Skills
Provisional cast on, and picking up stitches from one
working in the round
knit, purl, and YO
decreases: k2tog, ssk, sk2p, and k2pnso (all explained in pattern)

Note
Due to decreases that straddle the start/end of round on several rounds the lace pattern is written out, not charted. As a chart user myself I found the repeat simple enough to remember from the written directions.

I want to thank Stephannie Tallent (StephCat on Ravelry) for providing the technical editing.
