Tiny Gnomes small enough to fit in your pocket, hang from your tree, hide in a home, or populate your village! Village? Why yes… every Gnome needs a Home, and every Home needs a Village!

I have had a tremendous amount of enjoyment designing this set of patterns! I hope that you will also have fun creating these—whether you make them as home décor, or as a playset for your children, grandchildren, nieces & nephews, friends, or for charity (to donate, raffle, or sell in a hospital gift shop, etc). I have made each item at least twice, and tried to find all the errors and typos…but if there are some I have missed, I apologize—please let me know so I can correct it!

MATERIALS, SIZE, GAUGE, ETC.

I used #4 aran weight yarns from my stash—Red Heart Super Saver, Red Heart Comfort, Bernat CozyStyle, etc. None of these patterns uses very much yarn!
Small amount of fibre fill or other stuffing material for gnome body, tree.
I used 5 mm, 4 mm, 3.5 mm, and 3 mm hooks; often more than one hook is used in the same project to keep the work tighter/looser, so please watch for this.
Gauge: not terribly important and I didn’t measure. MY HOMES ARE ABOUT 6 INCHES TALL; THE GNOMES ARE ABOUT 3 INCHES. All that really matters is keeping the work fairly tight, so Gnome body stuffing doesn’t show, etc. You can vary the size of a set by using thinner or thicker yarns with the right size hooks!
Finishing: I never bother to write into the pattern the necessity of weaving in yarn ends—that is just an unavoidable part of crochet and knitting work. To avoid an excessive number of yarn ends to weave in once you have finished all the pieces, it is often possible to work over the yarn end when you change colours, etc.
