From Interweave Knits, Winter 2002/2003: To create the puckered effect of ruching for this golden shawl, Nicky Epstein worked with two yarns - a fluffy kid mohair and a flat, smooth cotton-acrylic blend - at two different gauges and in two different stitch patterns (stockinette for the mohair and garter for the cotton blend). To embellish the short ends, she chose waves of garter-stitch scallops.
