I stumbled onto this stitch while shopping a few years ago and have loved it ever since. It was being used in a sweater (black and white) and was quite striking. I bought the sweater and took it home to study..

It was some time later that, quite by accident, I realized it was the wrong side of another stitch I was working with, and the mystery of the stitch was solved! I created this slouchy bag using it, and decided to name the stitch “Lotus Flower” since I was never able to identify it by any other name.

Originally, I was going to title this pattern “Lotus Flower Golf Head Cover”, but when I put the neon green pom-pom on top….it screamed “Tutti-Frutti”!

So here you have it: a knitting pattern for a simple, easy to knit golf club cover with the unique Lotus Flower stitch pattern - perfect for high contrast yarn color combinations!

  • An easy way to work with multiple colors of yarn …..without stranding or knitting intarsia!

  • The rows of pattern can be worked in a variety of colors, making this pattern a great stash buster.

  • Particularly eye-catching in new neon yarn colors, but also appealing in simple 2-color designs.

  • The specially ribbed neck of the cover is stretchy and slips on/off quickly.

  • Pattern includes instructions for 3 sizes: rescue/utility, wood, and driver.

  • Needles required are #6 for a rescue/utility and wood covers and #6 and #8 for the driver.
