The Gollum character from The Lord of the Rings.

The finished size is 94 cm x 54 cm (37” x 21”) but I knit very tightly so yours may come out a bit bigger. I used 150 grams of DK yarn in each colour. Other yarns could be substituted.

The pattern includes the chart at a small size, fitted on one page, and also at a larger size split into three sections to make it easier to follow

This is my third experiment in illusion knitting and shows far more use of shading than my previous two. The outcome gives, I think, a far greater depth to the picture but the colours chosen, even though they are very suitable for Gollum, do not photograph that well.
