this cute little snake is based on the friendship bracelets my daughter and her friends fashioned for each other out of embroidery floss in the 80’s. They exchanged bracelets with each other and wore several at a time.
my snake-y bracelet is made out of a small amount of leftover sock yarn(less than 15 yards) and knits up quickly on #1 dp needles. my snake is about 15” long and knit all in on piece.
To wear the tail is pulled through a loop under the snakes mouth and then fastened on the wrist by twisting the tail around the body.
a cute accessory for any kid or even an adult.
you could make a whole bunch of these and fasten them to a hat and be Medusa for halloween(I am thinking of a knit watch cap with holes that you could thread the snakes through). or maybe just a couple of baby snakes for someone who wants to be Cleopatra. if my hair was a little longer I could braid a snake into it or wind it around my pony tail.
maybe you have a special friend you would like to share one with. visit my blog to get the simple directions to make your own friend/snake bracelet
