The photo tutorial for this necklace will guide you in making the roses, leaves and beads to adorn fabric covered (or regular) buttons. The tutorial does not show how buttons are covered, but I have supplied a link to a tutorial showing how to cover buttons with fabric. As a gift I have included a crochet ring with fabric button pattern.

Materials:
1. Crochet yarn and hook (sport /1.9mm) (UK 3) (US 5)
to make roses, leaves and buttons/ beads

  1. Fabric covered buttons or regular buttons
  2. Pearl beads, seed beads
  3. Felt or fabric patch for the back (optional)
  4. Tapestry needle for weaving and sewing needle and thread for sewing the pearls / beads.
  5. Filling for the crocheted bead.

Stitches: chain (ch), skip (sk), slip stitch (sl st), single crochet (sc), single crochet 2 together (sc2tog), half double crochet (hdc), double crochet (dc), treble (tr). American terminology used.

I used 4 sizes of buttons I had in my stash to dress up. You can use any size you have / want.
I used this method to cover them with fabric, (https://blog.treasurie.com/how-to-make-fabric-buttons ), but you can by all means use regular buttons and instead of sewing the flowers onto the buttons, you can glue them on.

  • Please note that I work very hard to make my crochet patterns come to live so I appreciate if you understand that they are for personal use only and may not be distributed in any way. Please DO NOT recopy, rewrite, redistribute or resell these patterns. However, you are most welcome to sell finished items from this tutorial. Thank you.*
