Grade is the project for a beginner wanting to attempt a different approach to the rectangle or for an intermediate to advanced knitter wanting to remember to enjoy garter stitch.

I wanted to make something to match the beauty of the hand dyed yarns that I have collected, something that would come off the needles with almost no fuss and a minimum of finishing so that the quality, texture and the color of the yarn would be the main attraction. A canvas of garter stitch shaped with two pairs of yarn overs and framed in i-cord became the solution.
