I designed this shawl specifically for gradient yarns, but any yarn would work. Since you knit until almost all your yarn is used, it can be an ideal pattern for handspun.

The pattern is written for fingering weight, but contains modifications for how to work with a DK yarn.

This shawl will spiral as you knit it. It is a simple 8 row repeat, interesting enough to not get bored but with lots of garter stitch to make it still great tv or social knitting.

Warning, it can get pretty addictive in trying to get to the next color transition!

Sizes: one

Finished measurements: 20” (max depth) x 60” (top edge) x 70” (bottom edge)

Yarn suggestions: (about 450 yards of fingering or 350 yards of DK)

• 1 skein of Knit Picks Stroll Gradient.
• 1 skein of KnitCircus Magnificent DK
• 1 skein of KnitCircus Calliope

Recommended needle size: For fingering - US #6 circular needle, about 20” long. Gauge is not important as long as you like the fabric that is produced, though a different gauge can change dimensions and yardage requirements. For DK - US #8 circular needle.
