Grand Coulee Mitts are designed as a short, fingerless mitt that covers the wrists and leaves your thumb and fingers free. Using a single crochet ribbing, these are a warm, conform to the shape of your hand. The thumb gusset is created with a combination of short rows and slip stitches, resulting in a comfortable fit.

Difficulty Level:

Size: Written for woman’s medium, but easily resized.

Yarn: One skein superwash DK weight yarn. Shown in Jorstad Creek Chelan (DK weight, 100% superwash Merino; 231 yds (211 m); in color Cardamom).

Hook: US E/3.5 mm; locking stitch marker; tapestry needle

Gauge: Gauge is not important. The Luva Mitt can be worked in any weight yarn. The fabric should be firm but not too tight, with enough stretch to fit comfortably.

Skills: Single crochet, slip stitches, short rows.
