Grand Prix is an asymmetric, crescent shape shawl worked from the top edge down to the short row edging, with increases at both ends.
The pattern features relaxing garter stitch and lace short row inserts for an uncommon shaping.

Finished measurements: 100¼ inches/255 cm wingspan; 15¾ inches/40 cm from CO to BO (at the deepest point).
Measurements are approximate because garter stitch stretches quite a lot.

Material
♡ 880-970 yards/805-1060 meters of any sock/fingering weight yarn. For my sample I used 2 full skeins of Artesano Definition Sock (75% wool, 25% nylon; 437 yards/400 meters per 100 gr) shown in Inferno.

♡ 47”/120cm or longer US5/3.75mm circular needle or different size to obtain gauge.
♡ 1 stitch marker.
♡ darning needle.

Gauge (after blocking):
17 sts & 54 rows = 4 inches/10 cm in garter stitch.

Skill level: Intermediate to Experienced.

it has come to my attention that my pattern resembles the pattern Waiting for Rain. Although it may seem similar, mine does not include the same ingenious technique developed by softsweater
