The Grandiflora Mitts feature intertwining cables, plentiful twisted ribbing, and delicate details. They knit up beautifully in Stroopwafel DK, a luscious BFL/silk blend from KimDyesYarn. Pair them with the Grandiflora Hat for a matching set!

This pattern contains both fully charted and written instructions.

Recommended Yarn:
KimDyesYarn Stroopwafel DK — 55% Bluefaced Leicester / 45% silk — 231 yds (211 m) to 100 g per skein. Shown in Size S in colorway Rose. Yardage estimates include a 10% cushion for gauge differences.

Yardages:
Size S: 145 yds ( 133 m)
Size M: 155 yds ( 142 m)
Size L: 165 yds (151 m)

Sizing -- All sizes are 9” (23 cm) in length.
S — 5.5” (14 cm) around, to fit hand circumference of 6 - 7” (15 - 18 cm).
M — 6” (15 cm) around, to fit hand circumference of 6.5 - 7.5” (16.5 - 19 cm).
L — 6.5” (16.5 cm) around, to fit hand circumference of 7 - 8” (18 - 20.5 cm).

Gauge (unstretched):
32 sts and 30 rounds to 4” (10 cm) in Twisted Rib, worked in the round and blocked.

PLEASE NOTE: Changes in gauge will affect finished size, look of patterning, and amount of yarn used. To meet these dimensions, be sure to use needle size that gives gauge. The high silk content of Stroopwafel DK contributes to the blocking and drape of the mitts — yarns with a higher wool content will not relax as much.*

Needles:
US 4 (3.5 mm) needles for preferred method of working in the round, plus US 2.5 (3 mm) needle for bind-off.

Sample mitts were worked using US 5 (3.75 mm) DPNs with a US 3 (3.25 mm) needle for bind-off, but as I tend to knit fairly tightly, I’ve listed a needle one size smaller.

Other Materials:
Cable needle in appropriate size, waste yarn, tapestry needle, 3-4 thin stitch markers.
