This pattern is for the mouse, its outfit and accessories as well as the opening house and furniture!

Please be aware that the house is large (measurements are given below) and so this is a fairly time-consuming project! The pattern contains lots of photos to help you every step of the way. It is written in English, using American crochet terms. All of my patterns have been independently tested prior to publication.

You will need:
Yarn of your choice. Yarn weight doesn’t really matter - the size of your project will simply turn out bigger or smaller! I used Stylecraft Special Aran weight yarn for my project (equivalent to light worsted weight / weight 3) and my finished house measures approximately 28cm wide, 17cm deep and 28cm tall (not including the carry handle). Please ensure that you use the same weight yarn to make both your house and the mouse & the furniture to ensure that they will fit.

For the mouse, clothing & accessories (pages 4 - 10), you will need the following colours:

  • Main mouse colour - I used pale grey in the photos although I recommend using a different colour if you’re adding grey hair to your grandma mouse (approx. 23.5m).
  • Nose / ears / feet / tail colour - I used pale pink (approx. 13m).
  • Dress colour - I used medium blue (approx. 8.5m).
  • Apron colour - I used white (approx. 6.5m).
  • Hair / mug colour - I used light grey (approx. 6.5m).

For the house, furniture & accessories (pages 11 - 38), you will need the following colours:

  • Outer Walls / Internal Window Frame Colour - I used duck egg blue (approx. 265m).
  • Inner Walls / External Window Frame Colour - I used cream (approx. 312m).
  • External Roof / Optional Carry Handle Colour - I used dark grey (approx. 201m).
  • Floor / Front Door / House Sign Colour - I used light brown (approx. 149m).
  • Internal Windows Colour - I used medium blue (approx. 4m).
  • Sunflower Stem / Rug / Plant / Storage Boxes Colour - I used green (approx. 31m).
  • Sunflower Petals / External windows / Cheese - I used yellow (approx. 22.5m).
  • Sunflower Centre / Bed / Plant Pot Colour - I used dark brown (approx. 75m).
  • Blanket / Lampshade / Flowers Colour - I used pink (approx. 33m).
  • Pillow / Storage Unit Colour - I used white (approx. 26.5m).

Please note - The amount of yarn used will vary according to yarn weight, hook size and stitch tension so these measurements are only a rough guide. The pattern refers to the colours that I used, however these can be substituted for colours of your choice.

You will also need:

  • A suitable size hook for the yarn you have chosen - I used a 4mm hook.
  • A pair of 6mm black safety eyes.
  • Some toy stuffing.
  • Small amounts of black and white finer yarn or thread for adding the details to the mouse’s face and the house name sign.
  • 2 buttons for fastening the house closed (this is optional). Mine were 17mm in diameter.
  • ‘7 count’ plastic canvas. I had a 26cm x 33cm sheet (that’s 10.25 x 13.5 inches) & I used 4 sheets. A higher count (that’s the number of holes per inch) will mean the plastic is more bendy so stick to 7 count if possible. If your plastic feels very bendy, you may wish to insert multiple layers of plastic into the wall, floor & roof panels to make your house stronger.
  • Other tools you will need are a tapestry needle, some scissors and some stitch markers.

You are welcome to sell the items that you make using this pattern, but please do not sell / share the pattern itself.
