Materials needed:

  • ~400 yards sock yarn
  • US 1 (2.25 mm) circular knitting needle (32 inches or longer) for magic loop, or needle size required to get gauge
  • Tapestry needle
  • 2 Stitch Markers

Inspired by my grandmother’s love of crafting and learning new things, these socks incorporate some simple lace and slipped stitches to create panels of butterflies traveling from the cuff to the toe. The socks are mirrored, and the pattern is charted.

Proceeds from the sale of this pattern will be donated to FirstBook, a charity that provides new books to children from families with limited resources. My grandmother understood that books have the power to transport you anywhere, and education can transform lives. She would delight in bringing the joy of reading to many more children.
