From Workbasket Magazine:

Next to Vicks VapoRub, I don’t think there’s anything better to put on a sore throat or a congested chest in the winter than a good, old-fashioned neck scarf. The trouble with most scarves, though, is that they hang loosely around the neck instead of staying wrapped tight.

This slotted neck scarf will easily solve that problem. You simply pull one end through the slot, and the scarf stays put snugly around the neck. Even little children can quickly put the scarf on, or take it off, by themselves.

Pattern calls for both straight and double-pointed needles.
