When I was growing up my Grandma and Grandpa Waalen lived on a farm. Every year they would plant a large garden and an equally large strawberry patch. As children, Grandma would send us to the patch with baskets to collect berries for preserves, sauce or shortcake. As we turned to run to the patch, she would remind us not to eat everything we picked. To this day, strawberries are my favorite fruit.

The stitch pattern of this reversible cowl reminds me of those baskets. The “vines” and loop remind me of the strawberry plants, and are completely detachable-wear the cowl with or without them.
