This simple Granny Square Beach bag is made out of Phentex Slipper and Craft Yarn, which is a man made fibre constructed out of plastic so the color is impregnated throughout the entire fibre. This means that the color wont fade, and the Olefin yarn is perfect for making summer beach bags that will get wet and be in the sun. It is lightweight, water resistant, fade resistant and cleanable (it can even be cleaned with bleach). Crafters Cotton would also be appropriate for this pattern, however, it is not fade resistant, and you can’t clean it with bleach if it gets really dirty. The pattern is available for free on my www.sassafrasscrochet.com/sassafrass-crochet-blog - the paid PDF download is printable, and advertisement-free
