Learn the fundamental granny square technique, and make a stylish scarf to be proud of. Hook size varies based on version of scarf pattern followed. (Patons Yarns)

Skill Level: Beginner

Gauge: one motif = 5 inches square

Patons Classic Wool (2) 100g balls or
Patons Brilliant (2) 100g balls or
Patons SWS (3) 80g balls

Patons Brilliant and SWS yarns have been discontinued.

Patons Note: There are 2 different ways to join granny squares or any individual pieces made in rounds:

  1. Sewing individual pieces together after they have been made.
  2. Joining pieces together while completing last round of work.
