This project was inspired by a gradient set of Meridian sock yarn by Seven Sisters Arts, which found me at the Madison Knitters’ Guild Knit-In in March. The skirt is worked from the bottom up, and all published sizes use one 900 yard gradient set with six colors. The yardage of the contrasting color changes with size. Note that for the medium size, I used all but about 10 yards of a single skein of the contrasting color. To maximize yardage and reduce weaving of ends, I worked ends in as joining new mitered squares.

Also, look how cute my mom looks wearing the skirt on Easter morning! Several family members have tried to get her to part with it, but the silver in the skirt looks amazing with her bright silver hair.
