notes
This scarf was inspired by a lovely Japanese scarf, owned
by a friend of mine. It can be wrapped around the neck
or shoulders a number of ways and secured with buttons
so it stays put. Working from this idea, I made a long,
herringbone-patterned, button-up scarf. The herringbone pattern creates a pleasing diagonal textured pattern on the reverse side. I gave it a seed stitch border for extra pattern detail and an I-cord edging for a tailored finish. I named it Grasshopper Scarf after the differential grasshopper, which has a chevron pattern on its leg that resembles this herringbone stitch.
