All my patterns are designed with a dear friend in mind, and this one belongs to my boyfriend Grayson! Grayson gets a hat every year for Christmas, and this past year he really wanted a beanie - but, being the crazy (lovable) person that he is, it couldn’t just be an ordinary beanie. So while it starts off in a simple marled rib, the crown features four of those middle ribs gradually traveling to the corners, creating a fun design. Classic, but unexpected: just like Grayson.

This hat is marled, so you need two different kinds of yarn. For the Adult Small-Medium you need about 200-215 yards of both sport and DK weight yarn, for the Adult Large-Extra Large you need about 200-215 yards of both DK and worsted weight yarn.

The hat is not snug; it is meant to be a little big and floppy! It can also be cuffed to be a more fitted hat.
