Warm, soft & stretchy toe-up socks feature a DNA double helix cable on the front and back, and a travelling twisted vine with leaf buds on each side. These would make a great gift for scientists or biology students!

A heel gusset creates the same arch ease that you get with top-down socks. Very comfortable.

This is a narrower sock – 8” (20.25cm) around – but we’ve included instructions on how to increase for a larger leg circumference.

Not ideal for beginner sock knitters, as it is assumed that you already know how to work the basic elements of a toe-up sock (such as a closed toe CO, and all the basic stitches).

Materials:
- light fingering weight (size 1) yarn, 345 - 450 yards
(sample used 346 yards of Knit Picks Stroll in Forest Heather)
- size US 1 (2.25mm) needles, either circular (for Magic Loop) or DPNs

Stitches/Techniques Used:
K, P, M1, slipped sts, wrap & turn, K2tog, ssk, Ktbl, twists of various kinds, centered double decrease, centered double increase, Turkish CO (or other closed toe CO you prefer)
