Knitting on the diagonal is great fun. And as its name suggests, stitches have a diagonal slant. For our baby blanket, we started with a few stitches, increased until the knitted fabric was the length we liked and then we started decreasing a stitch every row, creating a square blanket. We did not have a formal pattern or gauge when we started. We simply combined yarn colors we liked and experimented with needle sizes until we got the "look" that we liked. Experiment with different yarns and sizes, too.

Requires 24” size 17 circular needle. Size N crochet hook is optional for finishing.
