If you normally knit a 64 st sock, I recommend going up to the next size. The leg material is similar to cables in its compression.

Each dyer and each yarn have their own characteristics. Your gauge will also have an effect. Experiment with the needle size and even the needle material, and the amount of sts. You may note that the colour changes may be with in 6-12 sts of each other rather than stacked right above each other. This section will be on the back of the leg of the sock and shouldn’t worry you too much.

If you REALLY want control over the stripes, I suggest using a mini skein kit. (Phydeaux Yarns Pictured). Using a solid skein for toes and heels is recomended if you are knitting the larger 2 sizes with mini skeins. If you are more relaxed and the spiraling colours do not annoy you, just begin decrease/increase rows when the new colour appears and ribbing lines up with the next section.
