Minnesota Yarn Shop Hop 2015

This moebius cowl is a dream to crochet in Hazel Knits Divine. Designed for 3 Kittens Needle Arts for the Minnesota Yarn Shop Hop 2015, the inspiration for the cowl was Gustav Klimt. The 3 exclusive colorways of Divine were based on Klimt’s painting Forest of Beech Trees, and when I saw the lovely orange/gold color of ‘Leaf Fall,’ it begged to be made into a cowl.

The pattern begins with a simple moebius strip and includes a Cross-Over Long Double Crochet that creates a unique design. This is mimicked in the edge stitch.

There are two sizes for this cowl:

  • Small - 18 1/2” circumference x 6” wide
  • Large - 26” circumference x 6” wide - this size is long enough to be wrapped twice around the neck

Both sizes can be made with a single skein of Hazel Knits Divine.

ERRATA Alicia pointed out to me that after your chain, you should start in the 3rd chain from the hook - not the 2nd chain! Thanks, Alicia!

Note: Original pattern did not indicate the number of total stitches you should have after joining into a moebius. Short version - 400 sts. Long version - 560 sts.
