This halter was designed especially for a belly dance troupe for a Christmas parade performance. The theme of the parade was Lights, Camera, Christmas. The grand marshal was Ed Asner. Therefore, the costume was 70s-themed.

The pattern is based on a granny square design and uses self-striping yarn, which cuts down on the number of ends to be woven in. It ties in the back at the neck and mid-back. Instructions are given for adding fringe as well.
