This pattern is part of my 5 pattern collection Incense Route, a collaboration with Malabrigo Yarn for their Malabrigo Freelance Pattern Project.

Ha’il is inspired by the fortified city which is the last stop to the north before the open desert, it is styled in a similar fashion to the traditional textiles of the area, with a color work pattern that imitates the shape of the mud bricks of the fortress itself. This pullover is knit from the bottom up with a modified Dolman sleeve and is knit with positive ease. Both the bottom edging and the cuffs on the sleeves are knit in a highly contrasting corrugated ribbing, then continues in a geometric diamond chain design before the striping begins.
