Haiti Market Bag
All proceed go to our Famn pou Famn (women for women) market bag crochet project in Haiti.
Women learn to crochet and make the market bag The bag is then sold to women in the U.S. and Germany. (We are looking for volunteers to help sell the bags in other countries too.)
The women are paid per bag they finish and the other half of the profit is contributed toward their children’s tuition payment for school, once the bag is sold. A woman who makes 3 bags per week has enough money to feed herself and up to 3 children for the week.
I believe that this is a good opportunity for a woman to earn money because she can crochet the bags while tending to her children.
Each bag will have a tag with the woman’s name who crochet the bag and a photo with a short biography.
