This shawl combines some characteristics of my favourite lace tradition, Estonian, with one of my favourite shawl traditions, Faroese. That said, I otherwise lack the inspiration to really sell any potential buyers on the amazing virtues of this pattern, so let me give you a rundown of the facts:

Haldarsvik is a top-down shawl worked in stockinette stitch. The bold geometric pattern is accented with nupps. Unlike true Faroese shawls, there is no shoulder shaping.

The pattern assumes that you know how to cast on provisionally, read charts, knit nupps and attach an edging.

Many thanks to my test knitters Karen and Vibeke!

Haldarsvik is the last shawl of the Faux Faroese trio, preceded by Saltangara and Gjogv.
