The Halla sweater is knitted flat from top to bottom, first down from the neck to the underarms, and then the stitches are left on hold. The front stitches are picked up from the back shoulder stitches and knitted downward, adding stitches, and below the underarms, they are joined with the back stitches. Then the sweater is knitted in the round down to the hem. 
The sleeve stitches are picked up from the armholes and knitted in the round to the wrists. Finally, the neckline is finished with ribbing. The neckline ribbing can be knitted with smaller needles, if desired
