Set of 3 separate detailed instructions with photos for Spider and Web, Spider Coaster/Mug Rug and Large Scary Spider Coaster/Mug Rug/Trivet. Fun to make and suitable for beginners!

Instant download of 3 complete digital files. You get three patterns for one price! Each of these work up pretty quickly. You’ll find many uses for these patterns for this Halloween and many to come!

The Spider and Web is 11 pages of instructions and many detailed photos illustrating the steps. Makes a great applique or decoration. I wrote this pattern last year, but this is the first time I’m publishing it. I made this Spider and Web for myself last year and used it to decorate a witch’s hat - there’s a photo of that included with the instructions. It got tons of compliments!

The finished size of the spider, without the web, is about 3.5” in length by about 5” across. The web is about 5.5” across. This is the smallest (and cutest!) of the gang.

This year I added the Spider Coaster/Mug Rug and the Large Scary Spider Coaster/Mug rug/Trivet which are each 5 pages of detailed instructions and several photos. Although the coasters have less photos, the technique for making the legs is the same for all three and is very detailed in Spider and Web instructions, with lots of photos, so it can be referred to while making the coasters. This is one reason I’ve bundled these three patterns together.

The finished size of the Spider Coaster made with the wool is just under 4” across not including the legs and about 4.75” lengthwise. If you use Super Saver it might come out a little bigger unless you adjust your hook size. I recommend a gauge check after the first round and that’s explained in the instructions.

The finished size of the Large Scary Spider is a little over 4.5” across and 6.5” in length by about 5”, not including the legs, which would make it about 8” across.

All are made with worsted weight wool in black, white and red (or orange). Only small amounts are needed - about 10 yards or less of the main color per item - and smaller amounts of two contrast colors to embroider the eyes and rear markings. I used Red Heart Super Saver for the Spider and Web and for the Large Scary Spider. The smaller Spider Coaster was made with Knit Picks Wool of the Andes, but could also be made with Super Saver, although it might need an adjustment in hook size for gauge.

I used a G Hook and a tapestry needle to embroider the markings and weave in the ends. The skill level is easy - although it requires some concentration.
