HALVA sweater
The Halva sweater is worked from the top down with an oversized fit, dropped shoulder and wide sleeves.

Sweater is designed to have approx. 25-35 cm 10-14 inches
of positive ease
Sweater is worked from the top down. First the back is worked back and forth, Then, pick up and knit stitches along both shoulder seams and work the two shoulder sections separately. Join the shoulder sections by casting on new stitches at the center front and finish working the front section. Now join the front and back sections and work the remainder of the body in the round and finish with a ribbed edge. Stitches for the sleeves are picked up and knitted along the armholes and the sleeves are worked in the round down to the cuffs on a circular needle. The neckline is worked at the end from stitches that are picked up and knitted along the neck, work in the round using circular needles.
Needles:
6 mm US 10 circular needles 40 and 80 or 100 cm 16 and 32 or 40 inches;
4,5 mm (US Size 7) 40 cm 16 inches for neck and cuffs.
Optional: Double pointed needles: 4,5 mm US7
Longer needles can be used for the neck and the sleeves if you use magic loop method.
Gauge: In stocking stitch using 6 mm US10 needles.
14 sts / 22 rows = 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4 inches.
